Good News Run Story

The Good News Run is to help fund and bring awareness to the ability to have a Bible Club in the Schools. This Club is called Good News Club. We are allowed to have a Bible Club in Every school in Lincoln are goal is to help.

There are kids in every school in Lincoln that want to hear the Gospel and are waiting for people to come share the message with them. At Holmes Elementary we had leaders that show up for almost an entire semester just to share bible stories, memory verses, and songs for just one kid. The next semester 7 more kids showed up and that club continues to grow. Will you help that one kid in a school near you have the opportunity to hear the gospel?

You can help by signing up for the Good News Run and learning more about our ministry.

Good News Club

WHAT IS GOOD NEWS CLUB?

Since more than 80% of children do not go to church to hear of the Good News of Jesus, CEF is taking the Good News to them through the after-school Good News Club ®. This dynamic Bible club is held right where the children are in churches, neighborhood homes, community centers apartment complexes, local public elementary schools, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. These action-packed clubs meet once a week right after school. Each club features snacks, prizes, songs, an exciting Bible lesson, a missions story, review games or other activities. They are led by trained teenagers and adults.

CAN WE REALLY TEACH THE BIBLE IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS?

Yes! The Gospel has been taught freely in public schools all over the world for some time. Now children in the U.S. have that opportunity, too! In 2001 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Clubs v. Milford Central School that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools in the United States after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. Children attend Good News Club only with their parents’ permission. We’ve been assigned a great work and we could do so much more if we had one more person – just one more – helping us reach Every Child, Every Nation, Every Day. That person is you!

Serving the Local Church

Our goal is to serve alongside pastors to accomplish the vision and mission of their local church. Pastor/teachers and evangelists were given to the local church “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…” (Ephesians 4:11-12)

Joseph (Hannah) is the new missionary for the Lincoln Chapter! Joe began as the local coordinator for the Lincoln Chapter March 1, 2021.  Joe and Hannah both grew up in a Christian home and came to know Christ as Savior as children.  At age 20, Joe sensed the Lord’s call to full-time ministry.  He has worked with children and youth for the majority of his adult life.

Joe and Hannah met in Bible college and were married in 2019.  They moved to Cedar Rapids, IA, for Hannah’s student teaching where they reconnected with the church he had interned with in 2018.  Praying for further ministry opportunity, the Lord directed them to accept the call to the CEF of Lincoln Chapter.

Joe’s passion is to work together with local pastors and churches to advance the Kingdom of God through reaching the children and their families with the Gospel and seeing they are discipled in the local church.

Support

The most spiritually productive harvest field anywhere is among the children. Statistics show that the great majority of people who accept Christ do so between the ages of four and fourteen – when they are children.
